In the initial session, we will focus on getting a clear picture of what your problems are, how they developed, and ways we might work toward positive change and growth. Subsequent weekly sessions will continue the path of understanding the issues in full context and using a therapeutic process to respond to them in ways that will help you feel less trapped, so you can get on with a more joyful and productive life.

As a cognitive behavioral therapist, I believe that much of our suffering is rooted in the ways we think about ourselves and the world around us. Our most fundamental perceptions of who we are and how the world works are learned very early in life and become the lens through which we interpret the rest of our experiences, including those happening now.
When the lens is biased in unhelpful ways, or is accurate but too difficult to tolerate, we can become stuck in a cycle of self-defeating thuoghts, feelings, and actions. In therapy, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling life, and develop approaches that are empowering and effective.
A Process of Thought and Action:
Through a process of exploration and experimentation, I will help you achieve greater clarity, reduce depression and anxiety, and strengthen your ability to both initiate and accept change in yourself and the world around you. My approach is collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental, so you can feel comfortable sharing your personal issues with me.
