About Me

I am a licensed psychologist with a private practice in center city, Philadelphia, PA.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, where I worked as a research assistant for Aaron T. Beck MD, the creator and founder of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  I then decided to pursue a career in law and obtained a Juris Doctor degree with distinction from the Widener University School of Law.  After law school, I practiced for a number of years as an appellate attorney before returning full circle to my true passion, Psychology.  I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology of Widener University.

Through years of training, I have gained experience with a wide variety clients and psychotherapy modalities at respected institutions, including the Center for Cognitive Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania,The John F. Kennedy Center for Mental Health and Retardation, and the Family Health Psychology Center at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA.  Many of the individuals I've encountered in therapy have struggled with depression, anxiety, loss, and unwanted or difficult changes in their lives, and it is in these areas that I've developed a special interest.  I have also worked with older persons facing the practical and existential issues that emerge late in life.  My clients range in age from 25 to 94 and visit me to work on issues as varied as adjusting to new situations to coping with long-standing anxiety, depression, and shame.
